The History Of The Verde Canyon Railroad

Financed by William Andrews Clark, the Verde Canyon Railroad is a 38-mile rail line built in 1912. Back then, it was used to transport passengers, copper, and supplies.

Dave Durbano bought the line from Clark in 1989 to keep it from being dismantled. He opened the Verde Canyon Railroad as a tourist attraction in 1990. Today, his vision continues with visitors worldwide enjoying this beautiful journey through Verde Valley.

The Verde Canyon Railroad runs from Clarkdale to Perkinsville, Arizona, and has become a landmark in the local community.
